All-on-4 Dental Implants in Albania — Full-Arch Restoration at KissDent
At KissDent in Tirana, All-on-4 is not a treatment we offer on the side. It is one of the core procedures our clinic is built around — supported by an in-house CAD/CAM laboratory operating since 2005, a surgical team trained across Austria, Germany, Italy, and the United States, and Dr. Veronika Gjata’s clinical leadership within a practice whose professional roots go back to 1976.
What Is All-on-4?
All-on-4 is a full-arch implant technique that replaces an entire row of teeth using four titanium implants. Two are placed vertically at the front of the jaw; two are angled posteriorly at approximately 45 degrees to maximise contact with the available bone. This angulation is the key engineering insight: it allows the surgeon to access denser anterior bone, meaning many patients with significant bone loss can proceed directly to All-on-4 without the bone grafting that conventional implant placement would require.
The result is a fixed, non-removable full arch of teeth — supported by four roots fused into your jawbone — that functions and looks like natural teeth.
All-on-4 vs. Removable Dentures
A removable denture covers the palate, reduces taste sensation, and moves during eating and speaking. An All-on-4 prosthesis does none of these things. It is fixed in place, does not cover the palate, and transmits biting forces directly into the bone — stimulating it in a way that prevents the bone resorption that accelerates facial ageing after tooth loss.

Who Is All-on-4 For?
All-on-4 is indicated for patients who:
- Have lost all teeth in one or both arches, or whose remaining teeth cannot be saved
- Currently wear a removable denture and want a permanent, fixed alternative
- Have been told they have insufficient bone for conventional implants but want to avoid extensive grafting
- Are in good general health, without uncontrolled systemic conditions that affect healing or osseointegration
A detailed clinical assessment — including CBCT 3D imaging to evaluate bone volume, density, and anatomy — is required before confirming suitability. Not every patient is an All-on-4 candidate, and we will tell you directly if a different approach — All-on-6, All-on-8, or a customised All-on-X plan — would produce a better outcome for your specific jaw.

The All-on-4 Procedure at KissDent
Pre-Surgical Digital Planning
Your CBCT scan data is imported into our digital planning software, where the exact position, angulation, and depth of each implant is mapped before any surgery takes place. Where the case warrants it, a surgical guide is fabricated in our in-house laboratory to transfer this plan directly to the operating field — reducing intraoperative variability and improving placement accuracy.
Surgery Day
All four implants are placed in a single surgical session under local anaesthesia. Sedation is available for patients who prefer it. Any remaining teeth requiring extraction are removed at the same appointment. A full-arch procedure typically takes three to five hours.
A fixed provisional bridge — fabricated in advance in our laboratory — is attached to the implants the same day. You leave KissDent with functional, fixed teeth.
Healing and Osseointegration
Over the following three to six months, the implants fuse with the surrounding bone. The provisional prosthesis remains in place and in function throughout this period. We monitor integration with follow-up imaging before proceeding to the final restoration.
Final Restoration
Once osseointegration is confirmed, the definitive full-arch bridge is designed digitally and milled in our in-house CAD/CAM laboratory — standard material is monolithic zirconia, chosen for its combination of exceptional strength and a natural appearance. The bridge is fitted, bite-adjusted, and polished at the final appointment.
Materials and Standards at KissDent
Every implant placed at KissDent carries CE certification and is sourced from internationally recognised manufacturers — including Straumann, MegaGen, and ETK — systems with extensive published clinical data on long-term survival rates. The prosthetic components are fabricated from Dentsply Sirona and Ivoclar Vivadent materials, milled on our German-manufactured vhf S1 five-axis milling unit.
Clinical studies report long-term All-on-4 implant survival rates consistently above 95% in appropriately selected patients, with some series reporting rates above 98% at ten years. These figures reflect proper patient selection, quality materials, and thorough surgical execution — all of which are the standard at KissDent, not exceptions.
How Many Trips Do I Need?
For most All-on-4 patients, two visits are required:
- Visit 1: Consultation, CBCT scan, treatment planning, surgery, and fitting of the provisional prosthesis — typically a stay of four to six days in Tirana
- Visit 2: Three to six months later, once osseointegration is confirmed — fitting of the definitive zirconia bridge, typically a two to three day stay
We coordinate both visits around your schedule and provide written pre- and post-operative guidance so you know exactly what to prepare for each trip.
All-on-4 Aftercare
With proper maintenance, an All-on-4 restoration can remain functional for 20 years or more. The titanium implants, once fully integrated, are effectively permanent. The prosthetic bridge will require professional monitoring and may need renewal after 15 to 20 years depending on wear.
Daily care requirements:
- Clean beneath and around the bridge daily using a water flosser and interdental brushes — standard toothbrushing alone cannot reach the implant-prosthesis interface
- Avoid very hard foods (ice, hard crusts, bones) that could stress the prosthetic screws
- Attend six-monthly professional maintenance appointments — critical for monitoring peri-implant tissue health
Smoking significantly increases the risk of peri-implantitis — the implant equivalent of gum disease — and is the most important modifiable risk factor for long-term implant failure. We discuss this with every patient before treatment begins.

Why Choose KissDent Over Other Clinics in Albania?
Most clinics offering All-on-4 in Albania outsource their laboratory work. The prosthesis leaves the building, is fabricated elsewhere, and returns days later for fitting. Any adjustments require another external lab cycle — more time, less control.
At KissDent, the laboratory is in the same building as the clinic. The dental technicians who fabricate your prosthesis work alongside Dr. Gjata and the surgical team. If a shade needs correcting or a fit refinement is needed, it is done the same day. This integration — between clinical decision-making and prosthetic fabrication — is what produces consistently precise outcomes, and it is something very few clinics in Albania can genuinely offer.
Why Albania for All-on-4?
Albania is a two-hour flight from most major European cities. Tirana has direct connections to London, Rome, Milan, Vienna, Zurich, and many other destinations. Our central Tirana location — at Pallati Ambasador 3, Floor 3 — is easily accessible from the international airport.
Patients travelling from the UK, Italy, Germany, or France for All-on-4 treatment in Albania receive the same quality of materials, the same implant systems, and the same procedural standards — at a fraction of the cost. The difference in price reflects Albania’s lower cost of living and operating costs, not any difference in the quality of care delivered.
Trusted by patients from all over the world, KissDent is committed to making every journey to a smile as comfortable, clear, and worthwhile as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, when performed at a properly equipped, credentialled clinic using certified materials. At KissDent we use CE-certified implant systems from Straumann, MegaGen, and ETK, and our prosthetics are fabricated to European standards in our in-house CAD/CAM laboratory. Our clinical team has trained in Austria, Germany, Italy, and the United States.
Yes. A fixed provisional bridge is fitted the same day as surgery. You will not leave the clinic without teeth.
The procedure is performed under local anaesthesia — you will feel pressure but not pain. Post-operative swelling and soreness are normal for five to ten days and managed with prescribed medication. Most patients describe the recovery as more manageable than they anticipated.
Clinical literature consistently reports implant survival rates above 95% at ten years for All-on-4 in appropriately selected patients. Success depends on patient health, smoking status, oral hygiene compliance, and the quality of the surgical and prosthetic work.
Yes. Both upper and lower arches can be restored in the same surgical session, which means one recovery period instead of two. This is a common choice for patients completing full-mouth rehabilitation.
All-on-4’s angled posterior implants specifically address cases of moderate bone loss. A CBCT scan at your consultation will establish definitively whether All-on-4 is viable, or whether All-on-6, All-on-8, or a bone grafting procedure is more appropriate.
Approximately four to six days for the surgical visit, and two to three days for the final prosthesis fitting. We provide a clear schedule in advance so you can plan travel and accommodation.
Implant failure is uncommon but not impossible. At KissDent, every case is documented with an implant passport, and we provide a clear protocol for managing any complications. In most cases of early failure, the implant can be replaced once the site has healed.
