Fixed & Removable Dental Prostheses in Albania | KissDent Tirana
We restore missing teeth in Tirana with fixed bridges and removable prostheses — each one designed and fabricated in our own in-house laboratory to fit precisely, function reliably, and protect the teeth and bone that remain.

Fixed and Removable Dental Prostheses at KissDent — Restoring What Is Missing
Missing teeth affect more than appearance. They change how food is chewed, how words are formed, and over time, how the remaining teeth shift and the jawbone responds to the absence of stimulation. Left unaddressed, a single missing tooth can set off a chain of changes — neighbouring teeth drift, the opposing tooth over-erupts, bone resorbs — that makes the eventual solution more complex and more costly than it needed to be.
At KissDent in Tirana, under the clinical direction of Dr. Veronika Gjata, fixed and removable prosthetic treatment is available for patients with one missing tooth, several, or none at all. Every prosthesis is fabricated in our own in-house laboratory — using Ivoclar Vivadent, Dentsply Sirona, and Degudent materials — by technicians who work alongside the treating dentist on the same premises. The quality of a prosthesis depends entirely on every step in its production being controlled. At KissDent, they all are.
What Is a Dental Prosthesis?
A dental prosthesis is any restoration that replaces missing teeth. The two broad categories are fixed and removable — and the right choice depends on how many teeth are missing, the condition of the remaining teeth and bone, the patient’s preferences, and whether implants are part of the plan.

Fixed Dental Prostheses
A fixed prosthesis is cemented or screwed permanently into place and cannot be removed by the patient. It functions and feels closest to natural teeth of any tooth replacement option.
Dental Bridges
A dental bridge replaces one or more missing teeth by suspending a false tooth — the pontic — between anchor points on either side of the gap. The two main types:
Tooth-supported bridge: The teeth adjacent to the gap are prepared — their outer surface reduced — to accommodate crowns that anchor the bridge. This is a well-established, durable solution, but it permanently alters healthy adjacent teeth. Where those teeth are already heavily restored or crowned, this is a straightforward decision. Where they are healthy and intact, it is a factor worth discussing carefully.
Implant-supported bridge: One or more implants placed at strategic positions in the gap support the bridge without involving the adjacent natural teeth at all. This is the preferred biological approach wherever implants are clinically feasible — no healthy teeth are altered, and the implants stimulate the underlying bone in a way that prevents resorption.
All bridges at KissDent are fabricated in our in-house CAD/CAM laboratory. Material is selected based on position and aesthetic requirements — zirconia for posterior bridges requiring maximum strength, Ivoclar Vivadent E-Max for anterior bridges where aesthetics are the priority, and PFM where specifically indicated.
Cantilever Bridge
Where only one adjacent tooth is available to support a bridge, a cantilever design can work in limited, carefully selected situations. It places more stress on the single supporting tooth and is used selectively, with a clear explanation of the clinical trade-offs involved.
Our trusted brands:
Removable Dental Prostheses
A removable prosthesis is taken out by the patient for cleaning and during sleep. Modern removable prosthetics are significantly more comfortable and stable than older designs — but their quality still depends almost entirely on how carefully they are made.
Removable Partial Denture
A partial denture replaces multiple missing teeth in a jaw where some natural teeth remain. It sits over the gum and clips onto remaining teeth using clasps or precision attachments.
The critical variable in partial denture quality is the framework. At KissDent, partial dentures are made with a cobalt-chrome metal framework rather than a full acrylic base — thinner, stronger, and designed to distribute load across the remaining teeth without placing damaging stress on them. A poorly designed partial denture works against the teeth it relies on, accelerating their loss. A well-designed one protects them.
The position and design of clasps, the extension of the base, and the distribution of occlusal forces are clinical decisions — not aesthetic ones. Our laboratory team and Dr. Gjata’s clinical team make these decisions together, for each patient’s specific dentition.
Full (Complete) Removable Denture
When all teeth in an arch have been lost and implant treatment is not chosen or not possible, a complete denture restores both function and appearance. The quality of a full denture is almost entirely determined by the accuracy of the impressions, the precision of the bite registration, and the care taken in fabrication — all of which are controlled in our in-house laboratory.
We are direct with patients about what full dentures can and cannot do: they move more than natural teeth during function, they require periodic relining as the underlying ridge changes shape over time, and they do not stimulate the jawbone the way implant-supported prosthetics do. For patients for whom a full denture is the right solution — whether by preference, medical history, or bone condition — a well-made one from our laboratory makes a genuine difference to daily quality of life compared to a poorly made one.
Implant-Retained Overdenture
For patients who wear a full denture and want significantly greater stability without committing to a fully fixed implant bridge, an implant-retained overdenture offers a meaningful upgrade. Two to four implants are placed in the jaw, and the denture snaps onto locator attachments fixed to the implants — held securely in function but still removable by the patient for cleaning. It eliminates movement during eating and speaking while keeping maintenance simple.
Precision Attachment Prostheses
For partial denture cases where conventional clasps are aesthetically or mechanically undesirable, precision attachment systems use small engineered connectors — fitted to crowns on supporting teeth or to implants — that provide a hidden, snap-in retention mechanism. The result is a removable prosthesis with no visible metal clasps and significantly greater stability than conventional partial dentures.

How Long Do Prostheses Last?
- Fixed bridges: 10 to 20 years with proper care and regular maintenance check-ups
- Removable partial dentures: 7 to 10 years before replacement or reline is typically needed
- Full dentures: 7 to 10 years; periodic relining every 2 to 3 years as the ridge resorbs
The most important factors affecting longevity are the accuracy of the original fit, the patient’s oral hygiene, and regular professional monitoring that catches any changes in fit or condition before they cause problems.
Why Patients Choose KissDent for Prosthetic Treatment in Albania
Prosthetic dental treatment in the UK, Germany, or Italy costs significantly more than equivalent treatment at KissDent — using the same certified Ivoclar Vivadent, Dentsply Sirona, and Degudent materials and the same European clinical standards. The cost difference reflects Albania’s lower operating costs, not any reduction in what is delivered.
Tirana has direct flights from London, Rome, Milan, Vienna, Zurich, and most major European cities. Prosthetic treatment at KissDent typically requires two to four visits depending on the case complexity, and we plan the appointment schedule around international patients’ travel arrangements in advance. We can review X-rays and photographs before you travel and provide a written treatment plan with timelines.
Trusted by patients from all over the world, KissDent is committed to making every journey to a smile as comfortable, clear, and worthwhile as possible.

Frequently Asked Questions
A fixed prosthesis — a bridge — is permanently cemented or screwed in place and cannot be removed by the patient. It functions and feels closest to natural teeth. A removable prosthesis — a partial or full denture — is taken out by the patient for cleaning and at night. The right choice depends on how many teeth are missing, the condition of remaining teeth and bone, and whether implants are part of the treatment plan.
For replacing one to a few teeth, a fixed bridge or implant-supported solution is generally the superior clinical choice — more stable, more comfortable, and better for long-term bone health. For more extensive tooth loss, the right solution depends on bone availability, medical history, and patient preference. We present all options honestly at your consultation.
In many cases, yes. Implants placed beneath an existing or new denture convert it into a much more stable, implant-retained prosthesis. We assess your bone condition and existing denture at consultation to confirm whether this is possible.
A standard bridge involves two appointments — preparation and fitting — separated by a few days for laboratory fabrication. A full or partial denture typically requires four to six appointments over two to four weeks, including impressions, bite registration, try-in, and final fitting.
Yes, with properly designed and shade-matched prosthetics. At KissDent, shade selection is made under controlled lighting and the laboratory technician works directly with the treating dentist on every case — the result is reviewed and adjusted until it matches the surrounding teeth accurately.
For a tooth-supported bridge, yes — the adjacent teeth are prepared to accommodate the anchor crowns. This is a permanent alteration to those teeth. Where adjacent teeth are already heavily restored, this is straightforward. Where they are healthy and intact, we discuss whether an implant-supported bridge would be a better long-term decision for your specific situation.
Because fabrication at KissDent is done in-house, any fit issue identified at the try-in appointment is addressed the same day — the technician is in the building. We do not send work back and forth to an external laboratory with days of delay between each adjustment.
Yes, at a properly credentialled clinic. KissDent uses certified Ivoclar Vivadent, Dentsply Sirona, and Degudent materials, fabricates all prosthetics in our own in-house CAD/CAM laboratory, and has operated to European clinical standards since 1976 under the clinical direction of Dr. Veronika Gjata, whose training includes certification in Austria, Germany, Italy, and the United States.
